Thanks Alan.
Thought I read somewhere that if Freeview started HD broadcasts then there
would be a free upgrade to enable this. On the Toppy.org website it states
that the 5810 will NEVER be able to show HD. Confusing?

The Topfield 5810 was never advertised as HD recorder - and it never
will be. It's a SD PVR with a 500G disk and an up-scaling capability.

Since when did Freeview have HD transmissions? If there is to be any HD
content its unlikely to be before 2012.

Are you mixing up Freeview (via an aerial) with Freesat (via a satellite
dish)

I saw something in the Metro the other day that said they're looking to roll
it out by 2009 "in some areas". These areas presumably being the ones where
the analogue's already been switched off.
