Default Leading brand PVR's

Brand leaders are bringing out their latest offerings that include what
might be described as PVR.
e.g. JVC model DR-MH30

This model offers 160 Gb HDD and DVD-R write speed of x4.

Editing of the material on the HDD, playlist order may be changed, and
scenes edited. The unit claims to dub 1 hrs worth of finalised material
from the HDD to the DVD in under 2 mins.
The usual benefits of HHD are described:
Pause live TV, retro recording etc.
DV input
The unit appears to have only an analogue TV tuner.
Price is about 450 pounds on the web.

The unit is a lot more expensive than say the Humax 8000, but not unexpected
for leading brand (set top- is that the right description? ) products.

What might be the disadvantages of replacing my present set up of S-video
recorder, computer with editing and DVD burner, apart from the obviously
limited video editing?

A strong advantage for me might be a single virtually silent box compared to
the very noisy collection of boxes with trailing wires that's in the living
room right now.

Any opinions, experience, or snags?
