Default FTV mentioned on BBC local radio today

I was listening to the DTT phone in on BBC Radio Nottingham today.
A caller rang in and said he was in a fringe area between two terrestrial
transmitters and couldn't get a decent signal from either of them, he asked
the "expert" in the studio what sort of time scale was he looking at for good
reception of DTT.
The "expert" went on about locations/power levels etc but basically said it
could be a long time before the current levels were increased.
The amusing bit was that he then mentioned SKY's non subscription FTV
offer and that the caller could buy that and then get himself a FTA smartcard !
I got some funny looks when I started laughing

To be fair the "expert" was not a BBC employee but it goes to show the level
of confusion/ignorance of the situation
