Default Watch Rod Hull tonight

A profile of Rod Hull will be shown tonight on C4 at 9pm. I'll be interested to
see the bit about him falling off the roof whilst fiddling with his aerial.
Incidentally, thanks to whoever it was that alerted me to the Laurel and Hardy
film where they fixed a radio aerial. Ohh I did laugh! I'll treasure that tape
for ever!

There's another old American comedy short -- this time from the late
1930s -- in which the main character is having problems with radio reception
and starts ripping the "built-in aerial" out of the wall...only later to
find that the aerial was built into the *set* rather than the wall.

Whenever i hear Rod Hull mentioned i can't help but think of him struggling
to mend his tv aerial *whilst wearing Emu*, the very possibility that the
bird may have done him in.

Sorry.

I'm so glad you said that, because exactly the same thought occurred to me
when I first heard the news report, and I couldn't get that image out of my
mind. I thought it was only me that had a sick mind ;-)

Neither of them can fly.

Did you hear about Rod Hull's funeral?
The reception was awful!

Well I watched it!

Two things amazed me:

1. The quality of the ladies he managed to attract in his later years (and
the making love by the waters edge!)

2. The fact that he had been filmed previously wrapping wire around the
chimney bracket in an effort to cure what appeared to be long standing
reception problem. I noticed the chimney was bare in the shots of the
cottage at the end, so presumably he brought it down with him as he tried to
arrest his fall.
Very sad really.

the man who 'parky' hates!!!!!!

http://www.antibodies.org/kelly/rm/emu.ram

OK this isn't parky but the sketch was the same.

Tim

apart from the bloke with the reception
problems? Did you see the Paul Merton show a while ago where he had
problems getting reception from an internal airial, then after doing
all sorts to it he found it was a problem with the transmission? Tony
Handcock originally I think.

Andrew.
