I've just watched John Snow's report from the US. Utter total one-sided
bias against Trump. Staggeringly one-sided. Now Dispatches are on about the housing shortage. They mention that it's partly due to the 'massive population increase' but they don't say why the population has increased. Bill |

I don't like Trump, but this was just ridiculous. However, it is not at all unusual on the mainstream media. Now Dispatches are on about the housing shortage. They mention that it's partly due to the 'massive population increase' but they don't say why the population has increased. -- Jack |

Bill I sometime wonder if people voted for Brexit because of the BBC stance on the subject. I found myself automatically disagreeing with the BBC on everything. Then I stopped watching TV, stopped buying a licence, and I became much happier. |

It's not population increase - in the main the physical shortage is due to household composition (more smaller households) and empty properties. House prices are another, related, issue. -- Cheers, Rob |

I also found the bbc program on why the trains are bad lacking in any
details as well. they presented the facts as they saw them, and the fact that gov and companies blame each other, but then suggested nationalisation might be a way to go, but never really produced any convincing evidence of how this was supposed to solve things. To me the obvious answer is to rewrite the contracts so all the companies colaborate and don't work against each other might be one way. However I got the distinct oppinion that somebody had got at the original thrust of what was going to be suggested for some reason. Too many half baked tell us what we already know documentaries around, just to fill schedule space. Of course the reason for populationgrowth is well known. Back some years ago our birth rate was falling below the level at which the tax paying public could support those who were getting pensions and who needed healthcare with age, so the bright sparks came up with opening up the doors to immigration as it is well known that in countries with poor records on infant deaths that they have more babies for at least two generations . The big snag of course is that this also then means you need more schools houses and almost everything else, soaking up the money. Governments never do see or even consider the whole picture when they do things. They think of their budgets only. It has nothing to do with racial descrimination or ethnic issues, its to do with idiots in government. Brian -- ----- - This newsgroup posting comes to you directly from... The Sofa of Brian Gaff...
