Hi all I have just bought a new VCR (complete with manual, leads, remote, etc in a sealed polythene container) from a charity shop as a gift. On the way home I lost the polythene envelope containing all the accessories!! On getting home and trying to setup the video (having bought a new remote from the Internet) I am faced with a request for the PIN number (the video is a Matsui VP9408).

so, there i am, watching something on the tivo and I need to go out, so i press the power button, it shuts down. i come back later and ARGH! half the time the sod won't let me resume - it wants to play from the start. is there any rhyme or reason to this or is it a random thing?

Why is it that on some channels TiVO does not show what's on, just a continuing list of the channel name whereas, the Sky guide lists the actual programs. I discovered what a pain this is when I went to record a program on The Amp. Obviously, TiVO doesn't know of it because it's listing doesn't show the actual programs. What's the deal with this.
