Extracting files from a PVR HD by Ivan
I own a Humax PVR 9200 from which in the past I have successfully extracted the.TS files via the USB socket to make DVDs. I've recently purchased a very cheap (£50.00) Digifusion PVR for my den. The only problem with this is that it lacks any device for allowing the extraction of files from the hard disk, however browsing the net tells me that it is possible if I install the hard drive into...

Best (or any) Non-freeview hard disk recorder out there? by Roger J
Hello u.t.t.v.pvr, My Philips HDRW720 has died again, and this time (the 3rd time...) it's out of warranty. I'd got pretty used to watching what I wanted, when I wanted to, so i'm keen to get another hard disk recorder to replace it. The problem is, there's no freeview signal in my area, and won't be until 2009. There's no cable, and I can't get a dish and Sky (shared building and listed...

Humax PVR9200T by PWB
Forgive me if i'm in the wrong NG , if so could anyone direct me to the right one, I have a PVR 9300T and it has a slot on the front for extra channels as well as the freeview ones already on it. My question is does anyone in the group know of a list of subscribers I can use for this and I believe there is a 5 gig partition on there that allows me to put mp3s and digital photograps on but the usb...

Problems recording with Digihome recorder by newburybrian@googlemail.com
I have recently installed an Argos Digihome recorder. Previously using just a Digi box the TV used to receive Freeview perfectly. Now with the Digihome recorder it still receives Freeview perfectly until you attempt to record something. It then has a stuttering effect on the recording and on the channel that you are trying to watch. I have had it replaced and still same problem. The new box also...

Anyone heard anything about whether Guideplus might be transmitted on a digital channel so that it can still be used after analogue switchoff? Beemer

New Toppy owner .. ;-) by T i m
Hi All, I actually got round to plumbing in my 5800 yesterday and I'm gradually feeling my way round the options / functions. Up to a few days ago I was mainly running from a very old (NTL / Cable) Jerrold STB into a distribution amp and round the house to mainly analogue receivers. I had added a Thomson DTI 2300 DTV STB a while ago but didn't use it

UK Video recorder speeds by Reg B
Hi, Can anyone advise me what tape speeds are on UK video recorders. My cousin sent me a recording of Trooping of colour and when I play it on Australian video, it states it is SLP or EP and the picture is just a lot of horizontal lines out of sync. Has the tape been done on a much lower speed than what Australia has? Our speeds are SP = 23.39mm/sec & LP = 11.7mm/sec.

Sky+ Series Link by Meng
Is it just my box that has difficulty with things that are on twice a week, like "Rome" and "Family Guy"? I have to keep going in and resetting the links for these because it keeps losing them. Tivo and Virgin software copes ok with this - why not Sky's?

PVR Tour de Europe by Ernst S Blofeld
My understanding is that there are subtle regional variations in the DVB-T implementation around Europe, most notably with the interactive services, EPGs and OAD. With that in mind, which DVB-T PVR could withstand being relocated around Europe with least pain? I would guess that the higher-end models (e.g. Topfield) could be flashed with regional firmware if needed, although there may be...

listing dates for software updates for digital reciver by johngood .............
I would prefer to switch off the Wharfdale DV832B digital receiver from the mains at night. But I have been told that it should be left on standby each night to get the automatic updates. Or is is the case that the update is applied only when it's posted on this site below? Like once every few months or something. http://www.dtg.org.uk/consumer/receivers.html Is there another name for the...
