PVR Software by Steve Crook
Hi all, I'm currently streaming video to my TV using Twonky Server. This works really nicely for content that I've mpeg4 encoded (and raw DVD VOB files). What I'd like to be able to do is stream media through Twonky that I've recorded on PC via a PVR. At the moment I'm using Windows Media Center to do the recording but as is so often the way with Microsoft, they appear to have created a file...

Large print EPG by allan harry
At present I have Sky+ and am very pleased with their EPG. However I would rather switch to Freeview simply because it's free. The only problem is that the EPGs that I have seen on the PVRs that I have tested have rather small print which I can only read with difficulty. Sky+ has an excellent EPG in this respect. Can anyone advise me of any make of PVR which has a large print EPG?

What PVR are you using? by AnthonyL
(Apologies for including this in digital-tv as well but .pvr seems a bit dead.) A couple of years ago it seemed that Humax and Topfield were generally the top choices for PVR. Now it seems that there are numerous options. So what did you opt for and how do you find it?

Panasonic DMR-EX75EB: Forgets the time by Ian Wade G3NRW
Panasonic DMR-EX75EB I have had this recorder for several years. I switch it off at the mains every night, and until a few days ago it has worked perfectly. Now, however, when I switch it on at the mains, I find that it has lost the time and all the program settings. I now have to reset the clock/calendar and rescan before I can use the machine. I wondered if there was an internal backup...

Grundig HD to freesat recording? by Glyn Colebrooke
I'd like to use my Grundig GUSTB250IV to record from a recently installed Ross freesatbox. Whilst the Ross box has a USB for a hardrive, the only connection on the Grundig is a spare scart. Is there a way to record via the scart? Thanks in advance

FAQ: Welcome to Usenet UK by Charles Lindsey
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Until the UK Usenet hierarchy got too big, a regular 'Welcome to Usenet' message was routinely posted to all groups in uk.* With the decline of Usenet, and the increase in the number of people accessing Usenet via Google Groups, it was felt that this informational posting should be...

Have I bricked my pvr (remote control)? by Keith
I have a Panasonic DMR-XS350EB - worked fine. Today the TV (ancient Protech) failed so I bought a Panasonic TX-L32X20B, theory being Panasonic DVD Recorder/Panasonic TV combo, no problems. Reality: whilst setting up DVD remote to control TV (it worked fine when I tuned it for the Protech) I have got the DVD displaying "DVD 3" and the remote no longer controls the DVD recorder, but does, now, work...

Combined Freeview HD and DVD recorder by Fredxx
A friend of mine has bought a Samsung DVD-SH893M/XEU which is most disappointing. Apart from not recording when it all seems it should, I have had it crash a few times where only responding to a cold boot by turning off and back on again. It also doesn't have two Freeview tuners, so you can't watch one prgram whilst watching another through the machine. I have since seem reviews are...

TF5800PVR - suspect disk has died by Bill Davy
It was locked up when I started watching this evening. Cycled power and the "checking files and folders" display stayed up for quarter of an hour. Recycled power again, and the menus have the disk operations greyed out, and I cannot get a display of recorded programmes (of which there are several). Listening carefully, I cannot hear the disk (can I usually?). I accept I will have lost...

instant freeze after television connection by john hamilton[_3_]
Neighbours Humax pvr 9200T freezes the television program picture about two seconds just after the downloader program has done its job. It does exactly the same thing everytime. We have tried swithching off the power and disconnecting all the lead connections for minutes and we are no better off. I suspect it not do the recent software update that was sent out very recently. We will do this...
