recording from sky digibox to dvd recorder by dwdw1
I've got 'standard' sky on a panasonic tv with a panasonic dvd recorder. I'd like ot be able to record sky programmes from the sky guide. Is this possible. If not is there any way around this, rather than buying sky plus. The tv has an inbuilt freeview system, so I can record any of these from the dvd recorders tv guide, but obviously not the sky progs. any advice appreciated. cheers DW

My son has Sky Plus in his bedroom, and following a change-a-round at home he is moving into another bedroom. I can take the 2 cables through the wall, but they are not long enogh to reach the box in its new location. Ca we easily get new extention cables, and if so can you help with a supplier contact details. Thanks

Sky - is picture freezing an issue? by Vaughan
I'm thinking of giving up my cable service and joining Sky, not least because one of the worst things about the cable system is the regular occurrence of pictures freezing, going blocky and just dropping out. This tends to happen with groups of channels and is a result of frequent SNR issues which take weeks to get resolved. For instance, nationally all the UKTV channels were freezing every...

EPG delay in switching by George
Basic Sky box (one of the Pace originals!) Recently, I've noticed that, although I've set up programmes to autoview, recordings (NOT Sky+) show that the channel does not switch until a minute after the programme has started. The EPG even indicates this ("This programme has started"), yet does not switch at the beginning of the programme. This happens whether there is a previous programme...

Use for old Sky digibox? by Douglas Hall
In relation to the other question I posted, now I've got a LNB on my dish with spare connections, in moving and clearing the loft from my previous house, I've found my old Sky digibox which would have been a remnant when having Sky+ installed. I haven't looked at the box, yet, but I seem to recall that the card would have probably been used for my Sky+ box? So I've got an old digibox, and a...

Sky+: question about signal strength and quality by Douglas Hall
I posted some questions some weeks back about moving house, and what to do about my equipment post move. As events panned out, the exchange and completion occurred rather hurredly, and I didn't really have time to contact Sky before moving. At the new house, the previous owner hadn't removed the dish as was indicated in the legal pack. Although only having one connection to the LNB, plugging...

Sky+ Multiroom contract by diy-newby
Hi guys We are toying with the idea of getting multiroom. I see you can get Sky+ multiroom for £99 or regular sky digibox for £49. Because the living room tv is in the opposite corner of the room to the cable entry point and the cable is buried in a channel in the floor, getting sky+ for the living room is a no-no (can't see the engineer ripping up the carpet and hiding another...

Mixed up programme descriptions on Sky+ by Peter Pratten
This subject was discussed back in March. It seems to have got a lot more prevalent lately. To re-cap: The synopsis of a programme (as seen on the /i/ button) is recorded with the programme but sometimes the text changes to that of some other programme sometime after recording. Usually it has been to another programme I've recorded but I have seen it as belonging to a programme on a...

Hi, I have normal sky digital and 1 multi room box. Recently added 1 premium channel ( 421 ) onto the package and it works on the second box ( Amstrad ) but is intermittent on the main box which is a Pace. Tried re-booting switching off for a while and all connections are fine as are all the other channels including the 2 mixes. Cant get through to Sky as they are too busy so any ideas here...

Remove need for PIN? by Steve Waller
I seem to remember reading that a global "PIN off" option is available. But I can't find it! I have one of the modified Sky+ hard drives (i.e bigger) which had the firmware update a while ago rolled back as it made them inoperable. Is that the firmware that gives this functionality, and is that not yet available for larger hard drives? Thanks!

damned PIN by Bill Wright
The Skybox in my motorhome has suddenly started demanding a pin number for certain programmes. God knows why -- it's never done it before. I have no idea what the pin number is, of course. Ideas anyone? Other than chuck the bloody thing in the bin? It's got a fault where it won't work on certain muxes when it's running from the inverter, so it's risking a landfill future by ****ing me off...

Sky Remote Not Working by Simon Dobson
Anyone offer any ideas on what's happening here? Friend has a Sky box and can't change channels during the evening :-\ It's an Amstrad, connected to an SLX extender which feeds three rooms. One room has a magic eye. This is conencted to output 1. * Everything works fine during the day. * Blue light is shown on extender. Sky is viewable in all the rooms all the time. Magic eye on output 1 works...
