How to find out if Mastermind is repeated? by
cpvh@o2.co.uk
HI,
We missed this weeks Mastermind and i'd like to know if any of the
other BBC regions or Digital channels will be showing Monday's
programme again.
I tried looking in the A-Z listings, but couldn't see anything. I
tried looking up University Challnge which i'm sure is on next week,
and that wasn't listed either

Sky broadband offer.. by
Bryan
I am considering moving from Metronet to Sky broadband and wondered if it
might be best to wait a while to see what happens. Anyone got any ideas
about this?

finding the satellite by
Bill Wright
There has been some discussion in this group recently about the difficulties
of aligning a satellite dish without professional test equipment. I hope the
following technique will be of use.
Initially the object of the exercise is to find due south, from which the
exact bearing of the desired satellite can be extrapolated. This can be done
using a good quality wris****ch or other timepiece,...

Sky In France by
Timmy2000
Hi All.
I have a couple questions relating to Freesat.
I'm going to be putting in a dish and box in France. I'm pretty sure I'm on
top of that.
With no card - I'll get all the FTA channels I know. How will the receiver
determine what ITV region I'm in? I've read that this selection comes from
the Sky Cards.

Using a video sender with Sky+ Advice Needed by
Schrodinger's cat
Hi,
I have a multi room Sky system. Sky+ in one room and original Sky in
another.
I have video senders on both systems.
In order to use the channel changer at the remote TVs I have put the
supplied "Stickies" onto each remote channel changer window on the Sky
boxes.

Sky Signal Strength and Quality by
CT
I have just got Sky HD and ever since I have been having
awful reception problems, not only with picture break-up
but complete blank screens (not even the 'No satellite signal
is being received' message) for short periods.
Prior to this installation I had a single LNB on the old,
larger analogue dish but I now have the twin LNB on the small
dish.
I have already phoned Sky once and they asked...

Sky+ Recorded Sound/Picture Out Of Sync by
XRT
Anyone know what's causing this?? Been happening on and off for the last
month. Program starts and all the way through the sound and picture seem to
'jump' out of sync then 'jump' back to ok again for a few secs, then back to
out of sync, etc. Totally unwatchable. Only happens now and again on a
recorded program, but bloody annoying when i t does happen. Also it happens
on different programs...

Bypassing the PIN by
Michael Rammell
Does anyone know how to get passed entering your PIN. My mother did not
keep any of her documents and can't rememer the PIN she chose. I have
tried the standard codes; 1234, 0000 and used the last 4 digits on her
card.
The funny thing is, when i call up to try and sort it out with Sky,
they say that they have "re-set the PIN to a new four digit code", and
that we should "change it to something...

LCD Screen Wiring by
Oli
Hi
I have bought myself an LCD screen. It does not have an integrated TV
tuner. I have SKY TV wired round the house on standard RF CoAX cable.
The LCD is not in the room where the Sky box is and has the following inputs
available to me:
Component (Y, Pb, Pr)
S-Video

Sky+ or HD? by
Brett...
I've been thinking about upgrading to Sky+ (the new factory fitted dish
would solve my dish/LNB problems - see other thread) but as I'll be
considering getting HD next year, I wonder if I should (or could!) buy a Sky
HD box but without the HD package?
This would be effectively a Sky+ box until I get a HD TV next year at which
point I could buy the HD package.
In other words why buy Sky+ if I...

Sky Movies/Cinema - different types of film for different channel numbers? by
Gus Ulton
Is there any logic to the Sky Movies/Cinema numbers. For example - is Sky
Movies 1 for the most recent releases on Sky Movies and Sky Movies 5 for
childrens stuff (not that I've noticed it being particularly for kids - just
using it as an example).
Or are the Sky Movies channel just a general hotchpotch of different types
of films spread all over the 10 or so channels.

Sky + / CSI-Miami by
MickK
Just watched last Tuesdays episode of CSI-Miami (Felony Flight) only
to find that part 2 continued immediately afterwards in CSI-New York
(Manhattan Manhunt).
In cases like this, surely it would make sense for the series link to
have picked it up?
Fortunately, the channel 5 website carry an episide guide, but it's
not the same as actually watching the conclusion. Very frustrating!

Short glitches anyone else noticing this? by

In article , Charlie+
writes
We use UKTVDrama quite a bit, in the last few months short glitches in
transmission are appearing in some programmes and also on some other channels,
average perhaps two or three glitches in an hour and lasting only a few
milliseconds at a guess, seems to be somewhat programme sensitive on the...

Aligning dish by
David
Hi all,
Just got a cheapie reciever from Lidl and am having problems aligning the
dish. I'm trying to get the freebie channels from Astra28E
The dish is on the kitchen roof with clear line of sight - no obstacles.
I've been onto the Astra site and typed in my exact location and got the
co-ordinates. I've aligned the dish horizontally with a compass and
protractor etc. I've tried moving it a...

Sky card in another box by
Allan McDermid
Hi, I am new to sky tv and was wondering if I put my Sky card in a spare box
which I am planning on installing in another room, will it work and give me
all the channels I have subscribed to, or does it just work in the box it
was registered for?
Regards

BBC recording wierdness by
Malcolm H
Last night I set my Sky+ to record the prom on BBC Four starting at 17:30.
No other recordings were set.
This morning I noticed to my surprise that the Sky+ box was still recording.
It had been recording channel 116 all night! On investigation I discovered
that the programme being recorded was CBeebies (ch 617) - but on the BBC
Four channel (116). The only way I could stop the recording was...
