How long had it been since you used the card - it may have missed the
activation signal. Leave it for an hour or so, and it should spring back
to
life. Have the same prob with a BBC Scotland FTV card (Which will be
obsolete next week anyway)

I switched to Channel 4 for Big Bro (sad, I know), and the box just went to
a gray screen. Then the digibox crashed, and Channel 4 came back when it
restarted.
Sony box, UK FTV card, Hampshire (BBC South + Meridian)

Maybe they were having technical problems?
