Yes, I have both boxes in the same room, and use the same old Sky+ remote
control for both.

looks identical to that of the older boxes, same buttons, no HD branding,
but will not control the older PACE Sky+.

Functionally, that is correct. Though some people may be aesthetically
disappointed.

In addition, Sky+ remotes can (with a code keyed in) also be persuaded to
send the old codes for plain old Sky boxes.
