Hi Folks

I'm currently subscribed to Sky+HD but due to redundancy I can no longer
justify or afford the £32 per month.

Am I understanding this right? I can get a card from Sky, costing £25, that
will still enable me to view non subscription channels for free, including
some HD ones.

You will be able to view non subscription channels for free with no card at
all. Just take the card out and you'll see what you can get.

As I've been a customer for 4 or 5 years is the equipment now mine and I
won't have to pay Sky to continue to use it? Will the recording facility
still work?

The equipment is yours from the day you bought it.

The recording facility is a software feature and you have to subscribe to sky
to have it activated.

And an ex-subscription Sky card will still receive free-to-view
channels anyway, so you'll also get the softscrambled channels like
Channel 5 HD, Viva, Sony, etc..
