Default Which make of HD box is reliable?

I have noticed quite a lot of PSU being advertised for Sky HD boxes which
box makes are bad and which good please?

In my experience, Thompson crap, Amstrad good.

In my experience, Thompson crap, Amstrad good.


Agreed. My Thomson failed just over 12 months ago and Sky replaced it with a
brand-new (smaller sized) Amstrad. So far it's worked perfectly.

I was expecting the failed Thomson to be replaced with a reconditioned unit,
but when the engineer turned up he said that he never installed
reconditioned units because they only failed again within a short time. He
also replaced the LNB, checked the dish alignment, and allowed me to keep
the old remote control and hdmi cable as spares.
