Default Snooker - 11 Dec 2010

OK, so it overran.

I had HIGNFY in my planner. I noticed that it started to record then
stopped several times and the start time in the planner changed by 5-10
minutes. I assume this was BBC updating the start time for the EPG.

Although they changed the start time to reflect the delay, they did not
change the stop time (until later). As a result, when HIGNFY did start,
it was after the stop time (10:15) in the EPG, so the programme did not
start to record and the entry in the planner was lost.

Luckily, I watched the programme so did not miss it. I noticed that the
start time of QI XL, which followed HIGNFY eventually changed, but this
was after HIGNFY was lost to anyone who was expecting it to be recorded.

there's an XL version of it though isn't there? I recorded it on
freeview with no problem at all.

For information, I noted when observing the end of the live snooker
broadcast and popping up the now/next banner that the Freesat EPG was
similarly updated several times as the snooker over-ran but in a timely
and complete manner such that HIGNFY and QI-XL both auto-recorded just
fine as part of series recordings. Saves resorting to iPlayer on the Red
Button.

I settled down to watch QI XL last night to find that my Sky+ box had
recorded HIGNFY instead. I was not a happy bunny!
