I've just replaced my Panasonic DVD home cinema system with a Panasonic
SC-BT735 Blu-Ray home cinema system. Overall I'm very pleased - after a lot of experimenting with the numerous sound adjustments. One section in the instruction manual is baffling me however. Under the general heading of "Making settings for digital audio input" it states: Select to suit the type of audio from the 'Digital Audio In' terminals on the main unit. Press [Ext-In] several times to select "D-In 1" (Digital In 1) or "D-In 2" (Digital In 2). Digital In 1/Digital In 2 Press [Audio] M1 M2 M1+M2 (stereo audio) (Only works with Dolby Dual Mono) "M1" or "M2" is not available if "On" is selected in "Digital Audio Input" ----- I don't have the faintest idea what any of that means. I have scoured the instruction manual and can find no explanation of what 'M1' or 'M2' means. Can anyone enlighten me? I have an optical audio feed from my Sky HD box into digital terminal 2 and an optical audio feed from my Xbox into digital terminal 2. What 'M' setting is appropriate for these inputs? -- Kev |

For those who want to read the manual it is downloadable at http://tda.panasonic-europe-service....51/vqt2q52.pdf M1 and M2 are Mono 1 and Mono 2? A good example of typical Japanese manual editing. On http://www.avforums.com/forums/all-o...c-bt735-2.html somebody recommends e-mailing questions to Panasonic I think I may have to do that! That particular section is just gobbledegook! -- Kev |

Yes - you may be right there, in which case I don't want either of those settings! -- Kev |

We bought a Panasonic microwave cooker in the Netherlands. Although we can read Dutch we got very little sense out of parts of the manual, which was supplied in Dutch. I compared the Dutch version to the English version in a shop in UK. It looked as if whole pages had been omitted. The times and settings given for defrosting bread would probably have been sufficient to bake a loaf from scratch. LOL! Another issue is appallingly badly translated instruction manuals which you still find accompanying many electrical products. In this day and age of instant communication I cannot understand just why a foreign company cannot e-mail its proposed translation to someone who actually speaks the language for checking prior to printing. -- Kev |
