A while ago my DVD player gave up on the surround sound through the
receiver/amp . It is connected by optical through a 3 way optical switch.

All other inputs worked. I looked at the lead and light was coming out.

Must be the DVD player.

Today I need to change other connections so i looked at the problem
properly.
Swapped the DVD lead with the sky box lead. Now DVD works but Sky not.

I find it weird that an optical lead that is passing light is not working
but it is a fact. The lead is at fault.

I though this may be of interest to others.
