Default A DOG's life

If we have to have DOGs (and I assume we do, since the Powers That Be
seem resistant to appeals to remove them), all channels should take a
lesson from BBC HD.

The DOG is faint enough to be barely noticeable except on the plainest
of backgrounds. With a busy picture, it virtually disappears.

I think DOGs and other screen clutter (such as animated, multiple,
and/or coloured DOGs; squashing the screen during credits to simulcast
adverts for upcoming programmes) should be banned by law!

The PTB have encouraged us to spend our money on HD - the least they
could do is let us watch it with no unwarranted distractions.

Well said - all dogs should be 'put down'

DOG **** is meant to be noticed. It's completely pointless smearing crap on
the picture if people are able to ignore it.

....now that I can watch ITV HD (see another thread), I would mention
that theirs is also suitably faint.

I have seen no post in favour of DOGs. I wonder, naively, if OfCom
cannot bring pressure to bear?

DOGs are here to stay - get over it everyone.

I for one hardly notice them. For those that find the concept of TV tricky,
the idea is to watch the programme, not the DOG.

....which is easy to do with the likes of the BBC HD and ITV1 HD DOGs. I
challenge you not to be distracted by some of the colourful animated
DOGs you sometimes get!

NO!

12 years later, there are still no DOGs here.

Watching Dr Who on BBC HD last night (recorded on Saturday),
I (eventually) noticed that the normally discrete DOG was actually
missing. I wonder why?
