Default Sky Player

For a while now I have been having trouble with Sky Player. Each time I
logged on to Sky Player to watch something which wasn't very often it kept
re-registering my computer. I only ever watch Sky Player with the one
laptop it is the only computer I have. It is a macBook if that makes any
difference, tonight I went on and yet again it registered my laptop and but
also said that I couldn't watch certain progs as this was not my main
computer. I went to make it my main computer and it said I couldn't because
I had already made one change this month!! That was obviously the
registration it did which it shouldn't have needed to do!! I then 'removed'
the 2 others that were listed it still wouldn't let me do anything. I then
removed that one and now I can't watch anything at all. I don't know why or
how it is seeing the macBook as a different computer each time and I don't
know how to rectify the situation has anyone any ideas please.

You don't have cookies turned off do you?

You could also try a different browser such as Firefox.

Perhaps it might be prudent to call Sky Customer Services?

I despair at times.

Pardon me for asking I just thought someone might have had the same problem
and been of the frame of mind to help! I am away from home at the moment so
was trying to avoid ringing Sky which can be a lengthy process. Neither you
or Mike needed to waste your own time on a reply that was of no help.

That's rather unwarranted and selfish. Why didn't you explain in the first
place that was the reason that you didn't phone them; you invited the
responses that you got partly because you left out that detail and
appeared to be treating this group as some kind of unpaid helpline. Ho hum
:-)

Not at all, but most other groups are 'helpful' we all help each other I
obviously mistook this Newsgroup to be the same. I think unwarranted and
selfish appears to fit your reply rather than my initial posting.

Well said Lynn. I thought this sort of flaming had died out. If you make
it clear you are off topic someone in uk.diy might be a bit more
helpful. If you are using your laptop from various different connections
Sky might not like it.

Thank you :-) It could well be the fact that I am using in a different
location, never thought of that. When I am home and have the use of a
landline I'll ring Sky and see if I sort out what the problem is. I will
then post the answer/or not on here for everybody else's benefit in case
they get the same problem at some point.

My sincere apologies for being so terse Lynn. Not like me at all - but I
was having a bad night.

I am glad though you intend to take my advice and call Sky.

Also sign in here (if you hadn't already done so)

http://skyplayer.sky.com/vod/page/default/home.do

and check which devices you have registered - it might be an idea to delete
all and start again.

Once again - apologies.

Apology accepted, we all have bad times :-) I had already deleted them all
and thought I would try again. I will post Sky's response when I get back
