Default Standby possible problem

My SKY+HD box goes into standby each night and every morning I turn it back
on. Each morning it records a programme for me at about 7:15 pm admittedly
the receiver is already 'ON' This morning I hadn't turned it on but when I
came in the Recording light was on but it was past the time that it should
have finished recording. Turned the receiver on using handset. Turned TV
on and noticed that it was on the TV scart and not HDMI 2 which it had been
left on as usual. Went to HDMI 2 no signal, blue screen. Went to Scart
same problem. Unplugged receiver on and off numerous times with no success
and then on the last occasion it came on and was searching for TV Listings.
Anyone had a similar problem?
Lynn
PS the previous sound distortion we were experiencing with sound distortion
appears to be the new Toshiba television and not the SKY receiver.

Have you gone to the setup menu and turned off auto standby?

No because I've not had a problem with it before.
