Beware.
New Amstrad Sky HD box only has one scart socket. No problem, you
might think if you use HDMI but as Sky are withdrawing the Sky+ box
and supplying HD boxes instead, you might have connection problems
with other equipment especially if TV only has one scart socket.

You can't now connect a DVD player through the Sky box and use the
audio out sockets to supply the sound from both Sky and DVD to an
amplifier. Or loop a VCR easily (a lot of people still like to keep
one in the system.

It does have composite phono out, however....woopee!

yeah, I know, it crossed my mind afterwards, as we have mentioned
before that no recording device has HDMI input. that was my initial
thought, that they had replaced a scart with an extra hdmi but of
course that wouldn't help.

Have they enabled Dolby Digital on the HDMI output so that we can get rid of
the optical cable?
