As a side note and not wanting to teach you to suck eggs, ALL phone
equipment on an ADSL enabled line should be filtered, took me ages
to sort out a mates connection till i found out it was his bloody
house alarm that was hard wired to BT that was causing his
connection problems!!!!!!!!

If it was a dial-out alarm then it shouldn't have made any difference
but if it was a carrier alarm then AFAIR it is not always compatible
with simultaneous use of broadband:-

Carrier type i think, anyways mate who works for BT sorted it with dedicated
filtered sockets all over

Have you got a filter on the sky box???
I never used to have one on it till my ADSL started playing up, twas the
Sky+ box causing the broadband to drop out when it called home, sticking a
filter on it cured it.

unfortunatly, all phones in the house are on a filter, but the sky box is
not I will try putting it through a filter to see if this cures it,
doubt it, but got nothing to lose

I have to wonder what strange understanding of technology makes you
think the Sky box is somehow immune from the REQUIREMENT that ALL
telephone equipment (other than one (1) ADSL modem) MUST be filtered
for it to work correctly?
