Anytime on HD by comport@somewherenice.com
I suspect it has been posted before. However is there any way to turn off Anytime and recover the disk space to use personally. I have Googled and can't see an answer to do this. I have turned off Anytime, removed all recordings and even tried a planner rebuild. But I don't think i am getting all the space for me to record. If I am how do I confirm that ? On my old Sky plus, I had an original ...

Viewing Sky in Different Property by BoB-B
I currently have Sky HD and a Sky+ under Multiroom contract, connected to telephone point. Is it possible to take Sky HD receiver to another property for a short period and carry on receiving Sky broadcasts without connecting to a telephone point.? Bob

Sky+ in Spain on the cheap by Deebrief
Guys Advice please. We have the original old Sky Box in Spain.A friend of mine has given me his Sky + box. As we have Sky HD here in the UK, could I not take the Sky+ box to Spain and put up an additional cable to the LNB and watch and record using my UK Sky card which I can take with me . Other say it may be better to just buy a Freesat +Box in HD, but without a

SKY + Not working and moving on ??? by Fat richard
A bit of background: We have SKY+ downstairs and a "narmal" SKY box upstiairs for which we pay for multi room and we even have both connected to the telephone line and both have genuine viewing cards, in effect we are "model" Sky customers - presumably not perfect models as we don't have HD. We have had this set up for about 4 years. The SKY+ box downstairs has started to go a bit goofy and...

Re Using a Sky Box and Humax box together by Deebrief
In Spain we have an old Sky box so pay no subsciption. However on obtaining a HD TV I use a Humax box to take advantage of HD channels plus loads of radio ones as well. But, we often bring out our Sky card from the UK to watch additional channels. Is there an apparatus that would allow me to run both boxes and be able to switch from one to the other instead of now having to undo one feed...

ITV1 HD in Scotland by George
This may well have been posted before, but, as I've only just got HD I would not have read it. Otheres may be in the same boat. WE, in Scotland (and possibly elsewhere), are unable to get ITV! HD via the EPG. However, I've just found out that it can be added manually: Go to ServicesAdd Channels Enter Frequency - 11.427 Alter Polarity - H

A DOG's life by George
If we have to have DOGs (and I assume we do, since the Powers That Be seem resistant to appeals to remove them), all channels should take a lesson from BBC HD. The DOG is faint enough to be barely noticeable except on the plainest of backgrounds. With a busy picture, it virtually disappears. I think DOGs and other screen clutter (such as animated, multiple, and/or coloured DOGs; squashing...

Freeview in Switzerland by paul nicholson
Does anyone know if a freeview box connected to a Sky dish would work in Switzerland? I cancelled Sky 6 months ago and now "only" recieve free to view channels. I know someone back in the UK who has the exact same situation as me and he told me that he bought and hooked up a new freeview box to his Sky dish and now gets more channels and even some in HD. Would the freeview box work in the...

Sound delay on Sky box( and maybe others) by Gary[_4_]
I have a 2 year old Pany Plasma with Freesat HD. I use a Sky HD box . My TV sound is via HDMI and i use a Kenwood AV amp for 5.1 etc The Phono sound from the sky box is sent to the TV in the Kitchen and a little Amp for good sound. the two amps sound good together. Because of the delay on the TV the sound echo's if you have on the Amp sound and the TV sound at the same time. As the...

Sky HD vs SD - initial opinion by George
Just installed a SkyHD box to replace my Sky+ box. Main reason was that the Sky+ box kept freezing on playback (although never on record). The free self-install option looked to be a cheap way to replace the box - Will cost me £120 in the first year after which I might downgrade to lose the HD channels. Our TV is a Panasonic TH-37PX70B, which you will realise is a 37" model. It has a...

Sky+HD free by George
Following a post in this forum recently, I phoned up the nice people in Sky on Sunday 23 May to enquire about the no-cost (apart from monthly HD sub) self-install option. Ordered box and it arrived on Friday 28 May. As we were away over the weekend, I did the self install yesterday (31 May). Mild hiccup when an HD recording failed. Phoned Sky who said their system was down and they...
