Aerial Questions by
nicoll
I would appreciate any answers which will help me with my aerial.
After being at a friend's house at the weekend and seeing the quality of
picture and sound he got with Freeeview I would like to get it in my house.
I have checked reception predictor and for analogue the results are Group B,

DEC 2000 and Hitachi TV by
Andrew Batey
I was seeing all sorts of errors/crashes when recording to my PC from a
DEC 2000T after buying a Hitachi widescreen and couldn't work out what I
had done. Until, and yes it is obvious now, I realised that the remote
for the Hitachi TV changes the DEC box, in particular Volume Down (or
maybe Up) puts the DEC box into a type of standby mode and something
else (I forget now) changes the...

BBC Interactive problem on Nokia 221T by
Big Ron
I have a perennial problem with BBCi. I live on the Bristol Channel
coast and therefore get signals from both Mendip and Wenvoe
transmitters.
Whenever I do an auto-rescan on the Nokia it picks up all the stuff
from Wenvoe...which I do not want. I manually delete all the Welsh
channels, but then when watching the various BBC channels and select
interactive, I can't get any miniscreen of the...

Basic set top box by
Joe Matthews
Hi,
What would people recommend for a cheap, basic set top box? I'm not
interested in fancy EPGs or OSDs, or dual scarts, or anything like that.
All it needs to be is stable.
Thanks,
Joe

Misconceptions! by
Doctor D.
Some thoughts and missives from recent experiences/tales........
I was recently in the Farnham branch of a smallish chain electrical retailer
where a customer was asking about the Pace Freeview box to use in Farnham.
The shop assistant asked him if he could get a good CH5 picture. He replied
that although he could receive CH5 the picture was not very good because he
used the Basingstoke...

Best deal around Freeview STBs? by
Jambers
buying a new STB in the next couple of days - what's the best deals
around for boxes upto 100 ukps?
Defo has to be Setpal s/w. I've searched the net for boxes, but I
can't find which boxes have Setpal, nor can I find the best prices.
One of you guys/gals must have some decent info and advice??
TIA,

What channels can you get on freeview? by
James
Hello,
We installed a freeview box at the weekend, powered it on, it searched and
found lots of channels.
All works great, but I was wondering, how do I find out what channels are
currently available? Perhaps I'm missing one or two?
Thanks in advance,

What _is_ this 'Mitsubishi' box (2?) by
Alex Bird
Andrew Hodgson wrote in message ...
Thanks; I went to Richer today to return my Philips and they offered
me the Mitsubishi box, which I was a bit wary about, snip
It's working beautifully now, but I haven't used any other ftv boxes.
It seems a lot quicker than cable and satellite boxes (analogue and
digital)...

Pace DTVA fix by
Tim Hall
My Pace DTVA was showing an intermittent fault, switching itself on
and off at random short intervals. I've found another 230VAC-6VDC
power supply from some defunct gadget or other, soldered the right
sized plug onto it (getting the polarity right) and all seems to be
well - touch wood.
You might want to try this if your Pace box shows similar problems
before you lash out for a new one.

Sony IDTV KD32DX150U "buzzing" by
KingStew
Can any owners of the above sony IDTV or other similar sony models tell me
if their TV makes a buzzing sound when turned on? Mine makes a buzzing sound
from the internal electronics (not the speakers).
It is loud enough that when I'm sat about 3m from the screen I have to set
the volume above about a 1/3rd to drown out the buzz. It is just loud enough
that I'm not sure if sony just use crap...
