Booster questions - am I asking too much - longish by Bill
If it catches fire you get a new one free on t'insurance! (and if you position the telly right, a new set of curtains and a suite as well) Years ago I was fitting an aerial for DER at a farm cottage. When the old lady realised that I'd have to get my arm down the back of the telly she said "Just a minute, I'll move the washing." The set was piled high with damp underwear. They were in the...

Toshiba 57WH36 menu bugging me! by Jay
I have had the above rear projection telly for about six months and I love it but for one very annoying thing - every single time I turn the telly on it brings up a bloody annoying quick setup welcome screen which has to be cleared by pressing exit. I use it for sky digital and dvds both of which are connected via scart - anyone any ideas how to stop it coming up? The only thing I can think...

Digital signal to TV and computer by Rob Greene
Hello I would like to have digital TV, but be able to watch on my TV but record to my computer if I want to, rather than to video. I have tried a set-top box to see if I can get it in my area and I can. The problem is that most of the digital boxes have a "through loop" but it's analogue.

Part P for aerial installations? by Neil Jones
I've been looking through the building regulations Part P to decide what work I need to begin before the end of the year... It seems that even aerial downloads are included in this. I can certainly start the job of installing replacement downleads by, for example, cutting the cables to the required length and leaving them coiled up in the loft, but honestly, do they really expect people...

DVD Recorder: recommendations by Martin Underwood
I'm trying to decide which DVD recorder to buy. I want DVD-RAM for its timeslip and watch-one-programme-while-recording-another-one capabilities - it's the next best thing to having a hard disk, and sadly I think HDD/DVD recorders are a bit out of my price range. I've narrowed it down to: I've shortlisted: - Panasonic DMR-E55 (DVD-R, DVD-RAM), no DV in

Toshiba SD 24 VB by eabowden@hotmail.com
I just took delivery of this DVD/VCR combo. It works great for the DVD and VCR - basically it is for my 4 year old so simplicity is the key. However, the picture on the tv channels is appalling. The analogue signal where we live is poor but acceptable if I plug the aerial straight into the TV, but watching (and therefore recording) on the VCR is not. Five has disappeared completely. Any ideas...

When I asked about the PCMCIA card/CAm thing he said they stopped doing it when they did the OTA upgrades. he tells me the next upgrade will be late January....2016! Just kidding..next year
