Cable to take TV signal 30M ish? Minimal Signal Drop? by
Carl Jarvis
Hello Group - I hope this is not too far off topic.
I am having some building work done on my house and will be replacing
skirting boards, as such I have a great opportunity to hide cables (network
and tv).
I want to have a mini hub style thing somewhere out of the way and have
everything running into that so that I can then break the tv signal out into
different rooms (and use a device to...

E4 on Freeview by
BIGEYE
Why do I not pick up any picture for channel E4 on my freeview box?
The channel is listed, but all I get is a no signal message. I re-tuned the
freeview box and still the same.
I pick up E4+1 without any problems.
TIA

Loewe TV's --- Aconda and Mimo by
Stevie Boy
Is there any difference between the older spec'd Aconda 3981ZW and the
newer Mimo regarding tube and chassis's technology?
I'm aware there are a few feature differences but I was more interested if
the Mimo could shine in the same light as the older Aconda when pic and
sound quality was of the prime importance.
Would anyone rate other TV's above these in the same or lower price bracket?
If...

Just had a quote for a new aerial....Skyforce by
larkim
Just been quoted £254 + VAT for a "DMX5" 32 element "high gain" X type
aerial from Skyforce!! I nearly wet myself....
Apparently, where I live (WA6 6 - Frodsham) I'd need a wideband aerial
- I told him that the transmitter says I need a grouped one (C/D), but
apparently "wideband aerials are recommended for digital" and "I
wouldn't be able to get channels 40 and 43 which I'd need for radio. ...

Problem radio stations by
sgpgpjr@yahoo.ie
Hi all,
I have recently got an integrated freeview tv which is fine except
there are some radio channels (ie MOJO) which start to broadcast then
stop making any sound then just display their radio information.
Anyone why this might be happening?
Many thanks
Sam

Two aerials or one with distribution amp, that is the question by
r_mervart
I would like to connect two TVs to Freeview boxes. Apparently I have strong
signal even in the loft and so there are two options offered to me for
consideration
a] A single aerial with an amplifier/splitter.
b] Two independent wideband aerials
In the first case the amplifier/splitter would require 12V feed from the PS
in one of the rooms but this arrangement is "guaranteed" to have an...

DIY DVR Recording 6 whole DTT multiplexes simulltaneously? by
Adrian C
What a challenge. Imagine being able to turn on your TV, see something
that looked watchable, skip back to the start of it (or the last 30 mins
- depending on buffer disk space) - no matter what channel it was on?
How many DTT tuner cards can I cram in on a PC motherboard. Will it
work? I imagine size of hard drive is not an issue for this?

Retailer Plasma/LCD HD panel demo kit lurkin' by
Adrian C
I was in London's Brent Cross shopping centre in Dixons and John Lewis
playing the HD panel spotting game. Interested to see how these
retailers are demoing these panels without satellite signals, and
spotted some interesting hardware 'behind the scenes'. Take a look
closely next time you visit one of these shops.
Dixons - a Shuttle multimedia PC branded "LG - not for sale".

Toshiba DVD Player by
gbh
I've recently bought a new DVD player which appears to have a very
intermittent problem, and I would like to find out if anybody else has
noticed the same.
The player is a Toshiba DVD/CD/VCD, model SD-150E. Very occasionally it
reports a DVD as "bad" upon loading. The same DVD will load and play at
other times without the slightest fault. There is, so far, no similar
problem with CDs.
Just...

ITV Wales / West - Planned DTT Engineering Work - Starting Monday 11 July by
aa
It is planned to carry out engineering work starting today, Monday 11 July,
to bring into service the new studio equipment for the ITV Wales & ITV West
regions.
Ultimately the only difference DTT viewers will see is the re-introduction
of ITV News Channel.
You are likely to see short breaks and glitches on Mux 2 channels during the
course of the days work. It is hoped that work will be...

In another post it is annouced the BBC will be starting HD via satellite and
