Unpaid Advertisement -- how to get that 1984 feeling by
J G Miller[_3_]
Turn your Samsung Smart TV into a two way telescreen just like
in the 1984 Big Brother society with an add on camera.
http://www.leconcepts.COM/products/lcd-tvs/1216-samsung-cy-stc1100-smart-tv-skype-camera.html?source=Froogle
Remember, if you have something to hide from the camera,
you must be doing something wrong.
And if the government do not take advantage of the camera in the room,
why...

BBC Radio Berkshire DSO phone-in by
Doctor D
Truly dreadful phone in on DSO on Radio Berkshire this morning:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/p00n6q28
From 9am (2 hours in) when Andrew Peach tells us all repeatedly that
Hannington is being switched off next week which confuses the first caller.
People were contacting him and he corrects himself later in the programme.
The lady from Digital UK - Samira Bashir is garbled, confusing...

Panasonic Remote Control by
Norman Wells[_6_]
I have two Panasonic HDD/DVD recorders and consequently 2 remote
controls. The recorders have slightly different model numbers but I
don't think that matters much.
One of the remote controls has stopped giving useful signals to either
box, but the other works perfectly well with both boxes, which behave
exactly as normal. The remote that doesn't work properly is
acknowledged by both boxes...

OT DEVD recorderr by

This is OT but perhaps someone can advise. I have a Samsung DVD reorder with
a hard drive, DVD and memory stick inputs/outputs. I have a video DIV X
format on a memory stick. I can copy it onto the SAMSUNG hard drive and play
it OK or play it directly from the memory stick. However I cannot copy it to
a DVD either from the memory stick or from the hard drive. After the copy
has been...

Silent freeview by
Andy Burns[_7_]
The other day while channel hopping I noticed that Dave was silent,
sloppy I thought, I've just hopped past PickTV, Really and Dave and
they're *all* playing out silent!
Given that I've just installed a new HDMI amp, I thought it might be
that having an issue, so se th TV back to playing sound through inbuilt
speakers rather than the amp just to check ... still silence on those
three...

Humax Foxsat HDR: problem using an analogue Sony TV by
Maurice Batey[_2_]
In preparation for the analogue switchoff in April we've invested in a
Humax Foxsat HDR (500GB ), and have already taken over the Sky dish with
a 2nd feed.
Until we get round to (soon!) replacing the Sony KV-28FX68U, however,
we've struck a couple of annoyances:
(1) Trying to map the TV's commands onto the Humax remote, less
than half of the 3-digit codes given in the Humax manual would...

New Freeview channel on Sandy Heath perhaps. by
UnsteadyKen[_2_]
A new service identifying itself as Racing UK has appeared at LCN 116
on the Arqiva B mux UHF channel 48 on Sandy Heath. Just a blank screen
at the moment and the EPG says no info available.
Could it be this lot?

They are easy to use. You can easily provide a Multicast stream from a
Linux or Windows machine. Linux use dvblast, windows use vlc.

Recommend a small monitor/TV? by
Paul D Smith[_2_]
Can anyone recommend a small 12V monitor/TV? I have a Nokia 5800 phone
which has SatNav built in, and very useful it is too - but the screen is a
little small.
Now phone also has a TV out and with a good monitor the picture is pretty
good so I thought "install a small TV/monitor in the car and use that for
the screen of the SatNav". Problem is what would be a good model? It
should be...

166 Khz offsets, what's that all about then? by
Daniallo[_3_]
I've just put in a new DVB-T2 card in my HTPC, replacing the old -T card.
Win 7 Media center cheerfully did a full scan finding everything including
the HD mux, but seemed to be getting confused along the way. As it found
each mux, the channel count shot up too far, before reducing itself to the
correct number.
When it was all done I fired up the excellent Guide...

epg getting confused by

Since the great innovation of being able to actually use the epg on my
talking goodmans box, I have recently encountered some funny goings on. The
question is, is this a normal feature or a problem...
Basically, if you choose to view the epg, you can move through the stations
with the arrow keys and through the times with the other directions. However
sometimes, if a proggy has no...

Best for HD Sports - Virgin or Sky? by
petersonjohn
So I have a nice shiny new flat screen TV, and I want to get a HD subscription (well I say I want to... I would prefer to get it for free, but freeview HD isn't much cop, and so I think I need to let the flies out of the wallet for once!)
In my local shopping centre there was a Virgin Media sales stand thing, and they reckoned that Virign was by far the best option for HD sports, but they, they...

Analogue Switchoff: When does the Freeview signal;get boosted? by
Maurice Batey[_2_]
Here in the Surrey Hills we are trying to get ready for the analogue
switchoff next month.
For the kitchen TV I've been trying a Freeview digital box
(Labgear FV300), but - as with my old Goodman box - it had a hard time
pulling many channels in, and any it did were not good enough to use.
The $64 question is: On what date is our Freeview signal likely to be
boosted?
(We are between...

Sandy Heath EPG by
Roger
Have just retuned one of the TVs in the house and the channels on the
EPG are now in the wrong order - C4 is in position 1. The BBc channels
are further down the list but showing no programme info in the EPG. I've
tried a factory reset and get the same results. Is anyone else having
similar problems on Sandy Heath at the moment?
