Can anyone confirm this minor bug?
Start playing a recording. If you change the playback speed, the indicator will appear in the top right-hand corner. Press stop. Now press play to resume the recording from where you stopped. If you change the speed the indicator no longer appears, though all functions operate correctly. You can get it back by pressing info, and then pressing it again to remove the info screen: now the speed indicator appears as normal. This is (for once) repeatable, at any rate on my box. It's hardly a problem since everything else works correctly. -- remove the nospam to reply (but you knew that already) |

Also once again I failed to record something last night. I'd not used the Twin for a couple of days yet it switched on at 10.30 and appeared to be recording Spooks on BBC3. Alas when I checked it the main tuner was on Ch4 with sound but just the pace logo. Also I checked tuner B via my VCR and there was no sound or picture. It appears the box failed to find correctly either CH4 or BBC3 before the recording kicked in. This morning the Twin was still displaying a recording and had crashed so I had to disconnect from mains. I have contacted pace about this as I still believe the reason it misses recordings is due to the Twin not finding the channel quickly enough and that once the record starts it stops searching and thus you end up with a blank recording. I have above %90 reception on most channels. As always Pace said this would be sorted in the next update. Has anyone else suffered the same circumstance. Rod |

This is the same on mine. Only I think since the upgrade. Yes I have same thing on my Twin. Also once again I failed to record something last night. Exactly the same here, with channel 4 and the Pace logo, AND the thing crashed while trying to record Hollyoaks, which meant I had to come out of record by switching off the power. The crash was my fault, trying to stop the recorder and turn over for Emmerdale. (We don't half watch some rubbish in our house!!) I also had first non recording too last night. The Pace did switch on, as I saw the RF out on the bedside TV, but no signs of it on the Pace. I did make some alterations to setup yesterday, I'll 'do' a trial recording, and undo the alterations, then try another. Also I checked tuner B via my VCR and there was no sound or picture. It appears the box failed to find correctly either CH4 or BBC3 before the recording kicked in. On 14-Jul-2003, Andrew Hodgson wrote: .................................................. ... Actually I am now sure it is to do with disk fragmentation issues. My sister last saturday recorded around 6 hours of a show on five - it was a pop show live, but can't remember the name. Anyway, until she had deleted it, I couldn't record anything else on the unit, and then it still wouldn't record until I reinitialised the disk. I had an 'empty' disk showing only 6 hours and a few minutes free space. Re-initialising the disk returned it to just over 10 hours. Pace thought it was a recording not listed in the library for some reason, but as I told them this was not the case. I had no missing recordings since the disk last displayed the correct figure and I do not think I have yet recorded a program around 4 hours in length. -- Malcolm - To reply change spam to ham. |
