Of course it was designed entirely for us down here. Never before has the south coast of the UK appeared with such clarity on a BBC weather map, and the BBC South region is the perfect shape to reproduce in a 16:9 image. Even the colour of the land is now accurate, as I'm sure you already know from media reports we've had no rain down here since about 1972. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. |

Arrh but Look North (Yorks) have a 'small weatherman' who dresses up in bright coloured outfits to make up for the mucky coloured maps, so all is not lost! And they also have a nice lady called Doris. Oh and lets not forget Harry! |

And don't forget that The Midget Metman/The Weeny Weather Watcher/Small Paul (all nicknames from his days on Radio Leeds) does, unusually and at the risk of beheading, still show the isobaric maps which often tell much more than this stupid, dumbed-down, sick-inducing, flying-eye brown muck! -- Woody harrogate2 at ntlworld dot com |

Watcher/Small Paul (all nicknames from his days on Radio Leeds) does, unusually and at the risk of beheading, still show the isobaric maps which often tell much more than this stupid, dumbed-down, sick-inducing, flying-eye brown muck! And nice to see he always makes a point of it in a "yes I don't like the new look either I'm a proper weatherman" kind of way. Didn't it freeze on him at lunch the other day (tues) from the Yorkshire show? |

"David" wrote in message ... Look North had the new style mucky coloured weather map this evening. -- Regards, David Please reply to News Group. Welcome to the new world of dumbed down BBC weather then. Gone are all those details like isobars, fronts, temperature gradiants, wind speeds, atlantic charts or anything else that was useful. Hope you enjoy the nauseus fly-around to waste valuable time, although that may only be on the national version. Now the weather is so simple, it's dark or light brown or raining, what could be easier ? ;O) |
