Default Fox HDR T2 playing MP3?

Anyone managed to stream MP3s to a Fox HDR T2? I'm using Twonky as the
media server but although I can see the media server, none of the MP3s show
up.

I thought it was because the Humax didn't support them but the instruction
book claims that it does.

Thanks,
Paul DS

But does the media server see the directory of MP3 files?
Check ownership and permissions.

Has it been told to scan the directory in order to serve them
up to clients?

I don't think I've tried with the Fox HDR T2, but I seem to remember
with another box that it could not handle all variations of mp3: kHz and
Bit/s. I had to convert the mp3 file to use kHz and Bit/s that the box
could handle. I haven't got the details so I can't be more help.

I can see and play all the files from a Roberts WM-202 and a Sony PS3 so
"yes" and "yes" I would guess. I originally guess that the Humax would not
play MP3s but apparently it is supposed to be able to do so.

Can the Humax play any other content being served (eg Pictures, Videos)
by the Twonky server?

Some TV DNLA media players are a bit particular about the header identification
string, eg Samsung.

As Peter Duncanson has suggested in another post, you may need to check
the bit rate of the MP3 files to see if they are out of range for the
Humax.

....snip...

Thanks to the suggestions, I had another go last night and realised that I
can get to the media server via various routes through the Humax menus. But
only at one point did I manage to select whether I wanted videos, photos or
music and then the tracks all appeared.

They seem to play fine (they're mostly variable bit rate (VBR)) although
there sometimes seems to be quite a delay between hitting "play" and the
sound appearing. I presume the box is simply buffering because I've seen
similar using a Roberts WM-202 to play the same tracks.

I've not tried streaming photos or video and in the latter case, I don't
have anything to stream at present. I might try downloading some files off
the Humax and seeing if I can stream them back.

One nicety which I want to try is that Twonky claims it can stream internet
radio feeds too. Now the Humax portal can do this but the portal seems to
be a little hit-and-miss for me so this might give me a quicker and more
reliable way of getting to radio feeds (such as NPR - my wife's American).

Thanks - see my other post - a little "user IQ" error and confusion but now
my tracks are playing fine. Most are VBR.

There is no NPR internet radio stream per se.

There is however the NPR Worldwide stream on Hotbird at 13 East.

And remember if you miss you favorite NPR show at a particular
time, you can always try an NPR member station in a time zone
further west, last chance being KHPR, Hawaii Public Radio at
HAST = UTC-10

NPR is also on WRN at certain times, via Sky free.
