Default Satellite Chart required for clear TV recievable in the UK

Been looking at satellite charts and they are too much information for me,
I'm after chart that will give a list of clear TV stations receivable in the
UK on say an 85cm movable dish, not necessary in English.
Regards
David

No and yes.
Ok for the satellite name and location but then goes on to give all the
transmissions clear and encrypted.
Would like to have clear ones only on a list, is there such a site giving
those receivable in UK with a modest dish size?

David

Try some of the left hand menu column entries at

http://en.kingofsat.NET/

eg DVB-S2, All satellites, Clear

With an 850 mm dish you may struggle to get Badr 26, but part of
the trick is you align the dish about 0.3 - 0.5 degrees west of the
true 26 degree position if 28,2 East is swamping reception with
too small a dish. The most sought after stations for English
language programming from this satellite are MBC 2, MBC 4,
and MBC MAX for recent US movies and recent US shows.

Otherwise the question is how far east and how far west
can you go with a clear view?

My suggestion for trying out a non Astra 2 28,2 East satellite
to get your feet wet and get some experience is 0,8 West

http://en.kingofsat.net/freqs.php?&pos=0.8W&standard=All&ordre=freq&filtre =Clear

I chose this one because you will not be swamped with a 1000 stations from a scan,
and you can find some English language programming eg Pentagon Channel,
BBC World, CCTV News, and also Kanale D and DDTV carry a lot of (1970s,
1980s style) US programming with English soundtrack and Romanian sub-titles.

If you know a little Latin or Italian you will be surprised at how
many of the words in the Romanian sub-titles you will recognise.

Late afternoons on DDTV is good if you like vintage cartoons eg 1930s, 1940s
Felix the Cat and other ancient characters.

DD is the abreviation of the owner of a chain of commercial TV stations
in Romania -- Dan Dianescu.

And on radio from 0,8 West you will get all the Scandinavian state
broadcasters with high quality classical music that one would actually
want to listen to, instead of the oftentimes more esoteric and elitist
BBC Radio 3.

Perhaps around 30 East to 30 West i.e. "Hispasat" is doable on say a 900
mm dish. Just look for ones in the "Clear " on Lyngsat..

Here in the south, at least, 42 East (Turksat) to 30 West (Hispasat) is
doable with a 65 cm dish and motor mounted on a south facing wall.

We'd prolly get a bit more to the East by low trees over that way make
that "iffy".

The dish is almost at ground level being out in the back garden
surrounded by bushes etc;!.....
