Mark Carver writes: Well, as of 05:00hrs today, the new high power BBC mux is working from Hannington on Ch 45. About 6 to 8 dB up on its old lower power level for me. Working very nicely. I am seeing a funny. BBC 4 is shown on both ch 45 and ch 46 with good signal strength on both (but ch 45 is slightly stronger than 46) and both on LCN 9 with nothing on LCN 8. Yes, I did factory default first! Quite Normal. BBC 4 is carried on the post DSO PSB 1 _and_ the pre DSO Mux B. You'll also find BBC Parliament, CBeebies, and BBC Radio similarly duplicated, with the 'doubles' probably stored up at LCN 800+. The reason being is that Sky Sports 1 and 2 are also on the pre DSO Mux B, and the Post DSO COM muxes, so Mux B has to carry on between DSO 1 and 2. It'll all sort itself out at Stage 2 on Feb 22 -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |

The brand spanking new BBC Mux went off the air for 7 mins at 13:45hrs today, presumably in an attempt to correct things, because it returned slightly stronger. I wonder how many re-scans were attempted during that period ? ! The public are now so used to re-tuning that when we take a communal system off for half an hour loads of them come out after we've put it back on to say 'it still don't work'! Bill |

It's amazing what Google finds for Author Cathode Ray. http://www.urbandictionary.com/autho...hor=cathodeRay Well we used his "Foundations of Wireless and Electronics" at Tech College, and "Get out your Scroggie's" does sounds like a euphemism. -- Graham. %Profound_observation% |

I have a copy which I seem to remember was when it was just called Foundations of Wireless. It managed to do calculus without actually using calculus notation. |

A remarkable run of reprints, and not a single shag in the whole book. You see, you don't have to have sex to sell. Bill |
