I have had a bit of trouble with E! Entertainment this evening whereby the
picture would breakup along with no satellite signal being received. The signal strength on that channel would show 0% signal strength and 0% signal quality intermittently. I only noticed because I accidently tuned into E! Entertainment whilst the phone was in use. All the usual suspects seemed to be OK ie CBS Reality so I figured it might have something to do with an Edge mobile phone that was in use at the same time. Anyway the Edge call was disconnected by accident then the person rang back, as soon as the Edge call ended I went back to E! Entertainment and the picture strength/quality had been restored to its former state of good health. Strangely when the person rang back E! Entertainment was working fine again for the remainder of that call but then another outgoing call was made and the problems with the signal strength and quality came back then normal service was resumed when the call ended. So I am 100% sure the Edge mobile phone had an impact on that particular channel whilst its not strictly a DECT phone which would interfere with more channels it had an effect on E! Entertainment. I am relieved that its not a dish alignment issue. |

The list of channels usually affected by DECT interference are as follows; 188 True Ent 321 True Movies 1 322 True Movies 2 365 Chart Show TV 366 The Vault 367 Flava 372 Bliss 374 Scuzz 376 DanceNationTV 382 NME TV 616 POP 617 Tiny POP 625 Tiny POP +1 626 POPGirl 627 Kix! 629 POPGirl +1 The channels which seemed to be affected by the EDGE mobile phone are; 151 E! Entertainment 281 The Active Channel 317 TCM 511 NDTV 24x7 That is not an exhaustive list as I had to go through each channel whilst the call was active so there maybe others upwards of channel 511. It shows that the DECT interference affects different channels. |
