Anyone know what the 'DSO-related' work was at Emley that took all muxes
off the air for 2.25 hours overnight?

How many, (in the middle of the night), late night viewers phoned you up
complaining.

Of course it had to coincide with me taking a big system off Belmont and
putting it on Emley the day before (I should have checked I know). Dunno
how many residents came in from the pub and decided to try a retune at 1am!

Incidentally the GBP does seem to be getting used to retunes. Out of 130
(approx) we had six who said this morning they couldn't retune. Five of
these had succeeded when I rung them back at teatime today (after the
kids had come home from school).

I'm on Emley Moor and each morning now I'm asked to retune as new stations
found.
How long this work at EM continuing?

David

We're on Emley Moor (Doncaster) and haven't re-tuned, other than
looking for Dave HD which isn't actually on freeview!, since we got the
TV .. should I try a re-tune?

No !

Some TVs wake themselves up at 3am, and have a sniff around for any new
channels. I suspect David's did that, found everything it had stored was
missing, and is now confused.

Emley was off air the other night for purely mechanical reasons
to do with antenna combiners.

As a point of interest the 'building' of the multiplexes is not
done on site - the complete package is delivered for
transmission. If a TV is requesting a retune it is nothing to do
with the physical transmission.

It was back on at three though, just. Incidentally my kitchen recorder,
the cheapy one, used to shut down at 3 every night for a minute, but it
hasn't done it for a while now.
