Default TOT real ale in bottles

Marks and Spencers on line are selling bottle conditioned real ales at
very reasonable prices. If you get two cases it's carriage free. I got
some and the packing etc is excellent. As is/was the beer.

We find it difficult sometimes to find bottle conditioned beer on the
supermarket shelves.

Have you tried doing the shopping before visiting the pub?

Well no. Do you think it would help?

BCA suffers from morons wondering why it's cloudy.

Spitfire used to be BCA. Hen's Tooth used to be fairly common on the
shelves as did Fuller's 1860whatever...

Go to Belgium and there's loads of it. Trappist Tripel. Mmmmmmmmm....

I don't rate Spitfire or Greene King's Hen's tooth as having enough
quality to warrant being bottled conditioned.

IMO, a lot of the BC beers that I've tried have been rather mediocre and
the BC label is just a marketing ploy rather than an attempt to produce
a better quality beer.

But they also produce that stuff where they let wild yeast into the
brewing process. Sell that on draught in the UK and the pubs would get
99% returns as something close to vinegar is somewhat of an acquired
taste

It's a shame you've come to think that. You must have been drinking
beers where the brewery had just cynically climbed on the bandwagon. Try
Sussex Golden Ale (Hepworth Brewery) or Yorkshire Best Bitter
(Hambleton). Both available at M & S, although they attribute the YBB to
Cropton Brewery, who I think lost the contract recently.

Since all the CAMRA people left to set up their own private group that
newsgroup is virtually dead.
