Problem: Fox-T2 HDR output (TS files) - how to create a DVD from them.

Thanks to all responders to my earlier request but I've thus far not managed
to do this - help!

For example Freemake is typical - The TS file apparently doesn't contain any
information about the data within it (PMTs?) so Freemake won't read them.
Is there some magic step involving the other three files which the Hummy
creates with similar filenames to the TS file?

Note - for now it's all SD contact to DVD.

Thanks,
Paul DS.

Topfields produce TS files too. I convert with projectX.

Are those HD or SD .ts files?

According to this:
http://project-x.sourceforge.net/

At the moment, Project-X does not include support for H.264 (HD
video) content.

They are SD files but the issue seems to be that they are somewhat "less"
than the TS files produced by, say, the 8200. They appear to be missing
sections (PMTs?) which define what each stream actually is.

To be clear, I can read TS files from an 8200 without any problems, but not
from the FOX-T2 HDR.

I use VideoReDo TVSuite to process TS files.

It handles SD TS files from the Humax 9200T, Foxsat-HDR and FOX-T2 HDR.

Thanks for that - does it complain at all about the new T2 files or do you
also give it one or more of the additional files which the TS produces?

Thanks,
Paul DS.

The Foxsat-HDR produces three files: .ts, .nts and .hmt.

The FOX-T2 HDR sometimes(?) produces a fourth file: .thm.

VideoReDo uses only the .ts files.

I find that Streamclip is very efficient for editing and converting the
raw .ts files from my satellite box into .mpg files. Simply changing
the extension from .ts to .mpg is sufficient, however, to make the files
playable with the media player of my TV.

It requires quicktime

I use the free Quicktime Alternative.

Conversion to DVD takes more work of course!

I am another fan of VideoRedo - VERY fast and can tidy-up many non-standard
"features" of TS files!
