Anyone know how many films the freeview channels are sharing amongst
themselves this winter - is it a dozen, or less?

The whole of Europe appears to be sharing the same films.
The Franco-German Arte channel, which is supposed to be a cultural
channel is showing Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy films, dubbed in French
and German.

I've also seen an old B&W Avengers program on the Arte HD channel as well.

IIRC Arte broadcast practically the entire (original) Avengers series,
B&W and colour, followed by Get Smart. I enjoyed watching the Rolling
Stones on Arte last week (in HD & SD).
