Anyone tried this yet?
I noticed it come up on the guide the other day - 907 on my Humax - it seems to be only available on Humax at the moment. -- David Kennedy http://www.anindianinexile.com |

I got a Panasonic G10 with built in Freesat because I thought it would be nice to have it all neat and built-in, but I'm now regretting it. We get iPlayer, when it works, and nothing else. Freesat should come down a lot harder on manufacturers using the Freesat brand and delivering not much more than a basic FTA box. |

This is exactly why I always suggest to people that they buy a separate front-end box. You can update, replace, or duplicate the delivery mechanism without changing the TV. |

I've just bought an LG BD660 player that supports I-Player and it's linked to the TV via a '1.4' HDMI cable that supports Ethernet. When I get a long enough Cat5 cable to reach, it'll be interesting to see how well the BD player interfaces with the TV. The player's just had 124MB of updtae - perhaps LG could include the functionality of Smart TV for the player with the next update. -- Peter. The gods will stay away whilst religions hold sway |

So are we going to duplicate the hi fi scenario, no one manufacturer makes everything well, so you buy one bit from company a another from b etc? I have a seperate room for the HiFi and she doesn't get a say in that, so yes, I have a system mad up of components from different manufacturers. In that case, can I buy a small screen size monitor that can also take input from a scart as well as a computer? There's not much point when you can use your computer to do all the media stuff such as TV and recorder. A computer is still the most flexible media box of them all. |

Brian I've got a Dell 24 inch monitor here that doesn't have SCART but does have composite S-Video and RGB. Merely a matter of cabling. It's an old model though. Looks as though the new ones don't have as good connectivity, though they do have HDCP. Andy |
