They have their own micro-climate, obviously.
Unless they are using a mainframe...

Snow far, so good.

I once worked out that assuming the aerials on the houses were
pointing at Winter Hill, then in order for Stan Ogden's satellite dish
to be seeing any part of the Clarke belt, Wetherfield must be in the
South Pacific ocean.

Actually I didn't do that, I just made it up, but I bet the relative
bearings of any "non-practical" prop aerials and dishes in TV drama
turn out to be inconstant.

Reminds me of the fact that using USALS with my satellite receiver, I
have to set my location to the southern hemisphere, otherwise the motor
moves the dish in the wrong direction!

I repeat, that is one big assumption for the direction though. Have you
noticed also that some of the real aerials on news shots around the country
are often in several directions? a fried did but as he could not recall
where the footage was shot I could not look it up. it also shows how boring
programmes on the tv are of late if people find it more interesting to look
at aerials than the content.

It's up north, innit?

In subtropical Walford all the trees were still in leaf on Christmas
Day on Eastenders and ******** were thick on the ground.

and I can remember seeing a thriller supposedly set in Munich during the
Oktoberbierfest with daffodils blooming in the castle grounds!

A week or so before Christmas, probably, when there was snow in parts of
the north which may well have included the Manchester area.
