Reasonable, only a few feet from the pavement.

I was talikng ********, I meant slant polarised, or some other cunning
scheme to allow reception of both HP and VP signals.

Since it seems that the phase relationship of the two transmissions will
be random at any given location I don't think it would be good to
receive equal amounts of both.

Although, as
already discussed, even post DSO the HP component will be higher power
than at present, so it would seem to be a pointless 'upgrade' for most
folks round here.

Sure it's pointless.

Now I've moved on from being an aerial spotter to being a tape spotter
I've noticed several more installations in the area with the
'trademark' two groups of three bands of tape on the mast as per my
photo.

Yes you will. It's a madness some riggers suffer from. There are some
small towns where every aerial has a distinctive tape pattern.

It depends on whether there is CCI from France at the receiving site. If
theer is, then use VP. The CCI will be on the HP signals, so you don't
want slant.

I think the plural term for reindeer is, reindeer ?

Only one thing matters - do they taste like venison?

They do a bit, quite chewy though IME.

Rather liverish I find, having had Reindeer steaks/smoked/soup/braised
over the years.

Makes a change from turkey for the Christmas dinner.

If you are Italian, will you be eating lots of fish tonight?

Funny you should ask that. We did have fish as it happens.

To explain, I was referring to the Feast of the Seven Fishes,
as recently described on "Morning Edition".

That sounds good. We only had two varieties yesterday.

And turkey today, surprise surprise.
