Default Humax 9300 & 9150 fault

Not responding to the remote:- I had that from fairly new and I noticed the
led on the remote slightly flickering and would turn the batteries to clear
it, But the same would return and I was having to power off the box as it
appeared hung. I have smeared the slightest of vaseline over the ends of the
remote batteries( the same original ones). Problem has gone for weeks now.

On a couple of fora I view there are reports coming in of a possible
fault with the Humax 9300 & 9150. Usually of not responding to the
remote. One poster reports being No. 34 in the humax helpline queue!

Now there is currently a repeat OTA for the 9300 till Friday 0900. Not a
co-incidence I'm sure.

I suspect the OTA hiccuped or was/is faulty.

Does anyone have any further news or a fix!?

IIRC the most recent Hummy fix made AR truncate slightly less off the
start of the program than it did previously and changed the method for
resolving issues with "back to back" recording when the first overruns in
a completely inadequate way (previously the second program would be lost,
now IME the first program is cut short thus completely ignoring the method
of finishing the first on one tuner and recoding the second on the other).
