Default Bedroom TV with good(ish) sound

Looking for a basic 16" or 19" bedroom TV, LED, built-in FreeView. But
it must have a reasonable sound quality -- the cheapies sound very
tinny.

Recommendation anyone?

All modern TVs have dreadful sound. Down to the fashion of them being all
screen. So resign yourself to using external speakers if its important to
you.

Out of the box, my 'cheapie' John Lewis Linsar 16" set had terrible
audio. Despite having small speakers, it was all bassy and boomy.
However, a few minutes spent tweaking the audio equaliser made a big
improvement. Please don't laugh, but I have it set with a rising
more-or-less linear slope, with -12dB at 120Hz to +12dB at 10kHz!
Admittedly, some of the HF boost is so I can listen to it at fairly low
volume (and I've also got the audio AVC on), and undoubtedly I have also
simply got used to it.

We bought a 26" Toshiba for the living room and a 19" Samsung for the
bedroom, and the Samsung has the better sound. But as mentioned
elsewhere, flat-screen sets have terrible speaker quality.

Its a tradition with tvs. Most of them from way back had crap sound, tiny
little eliptical speakers abounded and seem to not change much.
Find one with a rear audio socket and buy a pair of analogue type pc
amplified speakers for it.

I suppose a bedroom TV will be like a kitchen Tv, I bought the Tevion 19"
last Thursday special at Aldi last week.
Wife and I happy with it was £89.
Supermarkets have similar at £99+

In fact I haven't bothered connecting anything up to our new flat panel
Sony as yet..

But on the PC where its got a decent sound card and feeding a pair of
Rogers BBC LS3/5A speakers via an Audiolab 8000A its sometimes quite
staggering how good the sound can be in iplayer and via the cheapie
T-DTV adapter...
