Default Santa on the roof.

I posted a similar post to this yesterday but its been eaten.
Basically the drift was this. down my road is one of those families who,
when this time of the year arrives straps illuminated santas, and stuff all
over his house, including the roof. Luckily, these days other than the eyrie
glow as I pass by, I cannot see the tribute to third world illumination,
but it set me to wondering if, after the festive season, aerial riggers get
calls from folk with damaged cabling due to nutters with reindeer scrabbling
around roofs.

Ah, well, look what the office down the corridor from my dept has done.

(Sorry Brian, I'll let someone else describe the scene for you)

Cardboard house with steep pitched roof, shingles painstakingly drawn.
Santa descending the chimney with a polythene bag full of parcels in one
hand and a dislodged (real) log periodic neat his other arm.
Also,
Two cardboard solar panels,
A rather small satellite dish,
Polystyrene snow,
Tissue paper icicles,
String of lights round the tabletop eves,

And a partridge... no strike that.

Actually, to be fair, the dish is more or less the correct scale, while the
log-p is the sort of monstrous size you'd expect from Televes.

Well good job none of that was out doors during the last few days in
Scotland then. I bet the riggers have had a lot to do since.

Few years ago I was trying to get one of those DTT receivers on a scart
plug thingys to work in someone's kitchen when a woman banged on the door.

"Hello Janice have you got the bloke here doing your aerial?. Ohh, there
he is! When you've finished will you nip round to ours? We've got a
reindeer stuck on the aerial." And indeed they did have a reindeer stuck
on the aerial, but there it remained because the sum offered was a fiver.

I'd have thought a reindeer was worth at least 20.

What is your normal service charge for reindeer removal?
