According to our local authority (London Borough of Redbridge), the
scheme will be run by an outfit called Carillion Energy
Services Limited.

Having had a quick look at their web site

http://www.carillionenergy.com/

I don't see any obvious connection with their other lines of
business or any other reason to employ suitably qualified personnel.

Unless they've come up with some novel way of adapting solar PV
panels for satellite reception ...?

They claim to be "a recognised leader in transformational
outsourcing". WTF is transformational outsourcing?

I wonder what they say if you ask them what it means?
It sounds like what Nestles did to Cadburys. Claim you're going to save
the important, historical bits, then close them down once you have the
chance.

I don't understand any of that and, in any event, Néstle didn't do anything
to Cadburys. Cadburys is now owned by Kraft.

'I wonder what they say if you ask them what it means?' That is simple
enough to understand, I would have thought. Unlike the term concerned.

'Cadburys is now owned by Kraft.'
True, my mistake.

'It sounds like what Kraft did to Cadburys. Claim you're going to
save the important, historical bits, then close them down once you
have the chance.' (corrected for company name).
But that is what I see Kraft to have done. They promised to keep the
Cadbury Somerdale plant open, and then closed it after the takeover.
It sounds like a very possible interpretation of the obscure term
'transformational outsourcing'.

Nestle has nothing to do with Cadburys. It was Kraft who took them
over. Nestles own Rowntrees.

See my other response.

If you're going to be posh and put the accent in it's Nestlé.

I don't know if the package includes a converter for 405-line TVs.

There are some boxes at the bottom of the application form for people to
tick:
Convertor needed for 405 line set (with ITV convertor already fitted)
Convertor needed for 405 line set (without ITV convertor already fitted)
Convertor needed for Baird 30-line set (please state AC or DC mains, and
voltage).
Convertor needed for crystal set (sound only)

Has DSO happened in this area yet? Signal strength is likely to

If you're in a post-DSO area you can tell when you take the dog for a
walk. If he ****es on a wire fence it makes him squeal and lick his willy.

I expect there are some people who don't realise that they can receive this
new fangled "radio telephony" with their crystal sets and not just Morse
code. (Now that's what I call upward compatibility.)
