Default Fantastic News -- the station for which everybody has been waiting

As regular readers of this news group are aware, many people
prefer the presence of +1 stations on Freeview to other alternatives
because it gives them the chance to record a show they have just
watched.

But for too long, everybody's favorite station Five has failed to
provide this essential service.

Thankfully everyone is now breathing a sigh of relief and looking
forward to the launch of the exciting new Five +1 viewing experience
which is schedule for launch in early December 2011.

This will be a major improvement for many viewers, allowing them to
readily watch Big Brother an hour later, or the same segment again,
as well as being able to schedule a recording of their favorite hour
of Big Brother.

What a super Christmas present from Desmond!!!

So does this mean they have more bandwidth, or are they going to close one
of their other useless channels to open this one?

I note with some bemusement that they are not putting out as much audio
description as they used to. I wonder if they will get into hot water over
that with Ofcom.

Why not just watch the repeat a day later?

I have deleted all the +1 stations from my line up.

I find them occasionally useful when there are two programmes
on at the same time, which often happens. It saves having to bother
with the recorder.

No they do not have more bandwidth.

As you may have heard Arqiva have been tweaking the FEC parameter to
cram in another bit starved stream on to one of the commercial multiplexes.

The quality of the video on cable and satellite should be adequate however.

So can we have a station that plays everything backwards?

I'm sure on things like Big Brother it would actually be better.

Played backwards, is it Little Brother?

'cos in our case the wife gets in just a tad late to watch the start of
some programmes, so waits for the +1. That way she can see then
without first finding out what has happened in chat at work ...

I have deleted all the +1 stations from my line up.

Whatever works for you ..
