I'd guess that about half the set top boxes given to the grannies are
ending up in their grandchildren's bedrooms. Grannies are putting up with the box for a week or so then kicking it into touch and getting a new telly. Bill |

Grannies are putting up with the box for a week or so then kicking it into touch and getting a new telly. Bill My parents rushed out and got a new set after wrestling with a set top box for a while. Unfortunately they got a Freesat/Freeview LG and every couple of days one or the other of them manages to press the wrong button on the remote and I have to go through resetting everything via phone. Last month they set a new security number to avoid any further problems and promptly forgot the number... -- David Kennedy http://www.anindianinexile.com |

Ignoring the obvious feed line for a joke I must say that many do complain
about the size of people on the tv with black bars. Yet, when you actually compare the sizes between people on the old and new tv they buy, they are very close to the same size. I think quite often it has to be an optical illusion effect that causes the feeling that you are being cheated in the newer aspect ratio. Maybe if the top and bottom were in some other colour it might help. Brian -- Brian Gaff - Note:- In order to reduce spam, any email without 'Brian Gaff' in the display name may be lost.
