It is rather sad you find a man hunt so important you have to watch it happening. Would you prefer him to be watching televised fox hunting? |

He said that he no longer had a view of the scene because a row of trees had moved! I still haven't worked out what he actually meant. Obviously the trees were undercover surveillance Northumbria Police officers in camouflage. |

On the same subject, this is just plain bizarre !! :- From:- http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/ju...gne-raoul-moat Quote:- "Talking to Metro Radio, the 43-year-old appeared to suggest he had brought Moat, 37, a "can of lager, some chicken, a mobile phone and something to keep warm". Gascoigne added: "He is willing to give in now. I just want to give him some therapy and say 'come on Moaty, it's Gazza'. He is all right - simple as that - and I am willing to help him. I have come all the way from Newcastle to Rothbury to find him, have a chat with him." Gascoigne, who has battled with drink for much of his adult life, is a frequent visitor to Rothbury as the fishing is good locally. "I guarantee, Moaty, he won't shoot me. I am good friends with him," he said. Gascoigne's agent, Kenny Shepherd, said: "He's doing what? I am sitting having an evening meal in Majorca. I'm speechless." " End Quote -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. http://www.paras.org.uk/ |

Obviously I turned to the BBC as a good British citizen. What I saw whas a recorded programme about parliament. Put Sky on, live coverage, people on the ground, instant updates. I'm so sad. The Sky news reporters had very little information to give. They kept repeating themselves. The BBC recognised that there were other things happening in the world. This was at the moment when it was all happening with Mr Moat. It's a news story of great interest and for the BBC to run a recorded parliamentary debate at that moment was ridiculous. Well I can't help thinking that the actions of parliament that may well affect us all a great deal matters rather more than sitting in front of the telly just to wait and wait and wait to see if a hunted deranged bloke will die or be locked up. I'm sure, though, that many agree with you and prefer 'bread and circuses'. Hardly surprising that that nice Mr Murdoch should give you what he did. Suits him, no doubt, that you and others find it "interesting". *:-) You're in danger of sounding a bit too aware of your own obvious moral and intellectual superiority Jim. You should leave us common folk alone. Bill |
