I'm so sad.

The Sky news reporters had very little information to give. They kept
repeating themselves. The BBC recognised that there were other things
happening in the world.

This was at the moment when it was all happening with Mr Moat. It's a
news story of great interest and for the BBC to run a recorded
parliamentary debate at that moment was ridiculous.

Well I can't help thinking that the actions of parliament that may well
affect us all a great deal matters rather more than sitting in front of the
telly just to wait and wait and wait to see if a hunted deranged bloke will
die or be locked up. I'm sure, though, that many agree with you and prefer
'bread and circuses'. Hardly surprising that that nice Mr Murdoch should
give you what he did. Suits him, no doubt, that you and others find it
"interesting". :-)

Mind you, I find even non-lethal spectator sports as boring as watching
pain dry.

Slainte,

Jim

Obviously the trees were undercover surveillance Northumbria Police

Why is that "better"?

Personally, I find it a right PITA when they cancel scheduled programs to
report on some ongoing situation that you known isn't going to be resolved
before the next "normal" news broadcast.

....and being expected to wait for such a resolution as if it mattered that
you should see it 'live' sic in this case. Stiil, it is 'bread and
circuses'. Diverts people from taking any interest in how the rest of us
are having out lives changed by those in power.

I do hope the soldiers had watched the Public Service Film #42 first though.

On the same subject, this is just plain bizarre !! :-

From:-

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/ju...gne-raoul-moat

Quote:-

"Talking to Metro Radio, the 43-year-old appeared to suggest he had
brought Moat, 37, a "can of lager, some chicken, a mobile phone and
something to keep warm". Gascoigne added: "He is willing to give in now.
I just want to give him some therapy and say 'come on Moaty, it's
Gazza'. He is all right - simple as that - and I am willing to help
him. I have come all the way from Newcastle to Rothbury to find him,
have a chat with him."
Gascoigne, who has battled with drink for much of his adult life, is a
frequent visitor to Rothbury as the fishing is good locally.
"I guarantee, Moaty, he won't shoot me. I am good friends with him," he
said.

Gascoigne's agent, Kenny Shepherd, said: "He's doing what? I am sitting
having an evening meal in Majorca. I'm speechless." "

End Quote

You're in danger of sounding a bit too aware of your own obvious moral
and intellectual superiority Jim. You should leave us common folk
alone.
