He did not quote the words of his father. What he was suggesting that it is a better course of action to get a job to seek employment where it may be found than to riot. That is a sentiment which which I would agree. His speech was more to do with quelling civil unrest that to providing real advice to the unemployed. However, his comment was disingenuous because for many, they had been seeking employment for years but because of the Conservative and Unionist administration policy of de-industrialization, no jobs were to be found even within bicycle riding distance. A classic example was the privatization of the shipyards into the hands of a cartel which rapidly closed down competing yards which they had just bought, ensuring that sites which had employed tens of thousands were left as vacant ghost sites. Quite, and that's what they're doing again, though perhaps with better targets like middle managers in the NHS. Anyway they are creating a few million more unemployed simply by decreasing the number of available jobs. Even if every vacancy was filled there would probably still be 3 million unemployed if you vcount the ones no longer part of the official statistics. |

Well I partly agree, all those Normans can just **** off back to Surrey and the Home Counties where they belong. We don't want them round these parts. |

No-one knows what Mr Tebbutt Sr said. In fact it seems there is very little information to be found about Mr Tebbit Senior. It is interesting to note that Norman Tebbit was once a big supporter of Gordon Brown likening him to the one whom he worships, the blessed Margaret.
