Default Matsui DTR2 Freeview Box part needed.

Hi, has anyone got a faulty one of these, I think it's similar to other
receivers, such as the DTR1, and also Goodmans etc models. It's only a
cheapy thing but I liked the box, unfortunately the tuner has failed due
to water coming down the coaxial cable. I've tried opening the tuner and
scrubbing off the gunk, but it made no difference. Basically it just
fails to find any channels and reports that I should check the aerial
connection. I only want a tuner if anyone has one spare.

Thanks

From a search it appears to be similar to the Goodmans GDB3 and GDB4. I
believe it's made by Vestel.

I had a Digihome go bang recently, a couple of PSU components decided to vaporise.

Is the tuner possibly any good for you ?

Thanks for the reply. Shame, looked at the pictures but the tuner looks
different :-(

Still after one, I know the box isn't worth anything I just like
fiddling and it will save me buying a new box if I decide to get rid of
my Virgin cable service. I know that it's definitely the tuner.

Crappy cheapo box I know, but it was reliable and gave a great picture.

Why not do what Mark has done and put up a picture of the innards, as
someone may have a clone that doesn't bear the Matsui or Goodman's name.

Or post the part number on the tuner.

Ok, thanks for the reply. The tuner part number is Samsung
TDCU2345TV39A(P). How do I post a picture, do I need to upload one
somewhere and link to it?

When I saw the picture of that box, I thought I had the exact clone (AKA
Strong 5116) with a duff power supply, however when I delved into it is
totally different and even though the Samsung tuner has a similar number,
which I thought may have acted as a replacement, the pin out unfortunately
looks to be entirely different.
