I've bought this TV several weeks ago from Laskys and ever since when
switched off the power light comes on randomly, sometimes for a few hours, sometimes for a few days. I've had the techs guys (from Comet) out twice and it's clear that they don't know what is wrong - they've both done a factory reset and switched off the auto-update feature (which I've already done). I've also phoned Samsung tech support and they say that this should not happen but they couldn't say any more without seeing it. My question is this: The TV works fine otherwise, so is there any point in asking for a refund/replacement? -- Lew |

Do you mean just the power light or does the tv come on fully ?
With many Samsungs the power light can be set up in the menus to be off all the time, on all the time, on when the tv is on or on when its in standby or some very similar combination. I know you say it comes on at random but you may be able to alter the effect by changing those settings. Out of interest, and something which may affect someone here, the current range of smaller Toshibas can have a fault which makes them come on at random from standby. It is not directly solvable but Tosh will swap the set if it is still under guarantee. |
